We’re able to worship both online and in church during Holy Week and Easter and are looking forward to taking the journey to the Cross and Resurrection together.

During Holy Week Giles our Vicar will write a daily blog reflecting on the Passion story.
Sunday 28 March: Palm Sunday
9.00am – an Iona-style service of prayer, lasting about 30 minutes.
10.30am – includes the Passion Reading, following Jesus’ journey to the Cross. Members of the congregation take on roles in the narrative, bringing it to life through their creativity.
NB. It is not possible to process from St Andrew’s this year. The service will begin at 10.30 at St John’s.
Monday 29 March-Saturday 3rd April
8.30am (each day) – Morning Prayer online and in church.
Monday 29-Wednesday 31st March
Stations of the Cross followed by the Eucharist
6.00pm (each day) In story, music and art, we reflect on Jesus’ trial, suffering and death (online and in church).
Thursday 1st April
Maundy Thursday Eucharist
7.00pm – Remembering the Exodus of the Israelites from Egypt, we recount the story of the first Passover before turning our hearts and minds to the Last Supper and Christ, our Passover, and his sacrifice for us.

All are invited to make an Easter Garden in their homes, to represent the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed prior to his arrest.
A short ‘Watch’ for those who wish to stay in church will follow the service.
Friday 2nd April
11.00am – With other South Bank churches, we gather online (only) for an act of worship and witness
2.00pm – We come together (in church and online) to remember Jesus’ death on the Cross, keeping silence at 3.00pm.

Saturday 3rd April
Holy Saturday Prayer Morning
09.00am polishing and cleaning the church for Easter Day.
11.30am From Calvary to the Garden – a time of prayer and reflection (online and in church). The Zoom call will open at 11.00 for coffee and chat and will remain open after the session (from 1.00-1.30) for anyone who’d like to stay for online lunch.
Sunday 4 April
5.30am Dawn Mass – We gather at St John’s and online to light the Easter Fire, taking the Paschal Candle, the light of Christ back into church after the darkness of the tomb.

Please bring a glass for some fizz, and a real or symbolic egg for a socially distanced breakfast afterwards!
